  • Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi join the CUPRA City Garage Madrid Tribe as creative icons of an entire generation.
  • With their arrival, CUPRA strengthens its commitment to bold, unconventional talent driven by a restless spirit and a constantly evolving vision.

CUPRA welcomes Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi to CUPRA City Garage Madrid Tribe. As unmistakable voices of a generation, their work has redefined contemporary audiovisual storytelling through authenticity, emotion, and creative freedom. Their addition further reinforces the natural connection between CUPRA and those who, like them, break the mold with vision, character, and a fearless drive to go further.

Key figures in Spain’s new audiovisual scene, they have become two of the most influential storytellers of their generation. From La Llamada, a cult success born on stage and celebrated on screen, to Paquita Salas, a cultural phenomenon, their work has captured the emotional and social pulse of an era. With Veneno, they offered a powerful, honest look at identity, and with La Mesías, their most ambitious project to date, they created one of the most critically acclaimed series of the past decade. Through their production company, Suma Content, they have also launched series like Cardo and Superestar. Now, they are preparing their next film as directors and screenwriters: La Bola Negra, starring Guitarricadelafuente, Miguel Bernardeau, Carlos González, Lola Dueñas, and Penélope Cruz.

This alliance goes beyond creative affinity, it reflects a shared vision rooted in authenticity, boldness, and emotional impact. CUPRA approaches cinema not just as a spectator, but as an active force driving an art form capable of moving audiences, sparking transformation, and projecting local talent onto the global stage.

CUPRA’s bond with the world of cinema is long-standing and deeply rooted. Its presence at international benchmarks such as Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival), BAFTA Awards, and Sitges Film Festival, where it maintains a close partnership, underscores its cultural commitment. This commitment is further reinforced through The Dream Makers, an initiative launched in collaboration with J.A. Bayona and ESCAC, aimed at supporting the next generation of creative talent in film, with editions in both Spain and

Germany. Figures like Bayona himself and Daniel Brühl, CUPRA ambassadors, embody the non-conformist spirit that defines the brand.
