Underneath the CUPRA Raval’s striking exterior lies an advanced performance-specific battery-electric powertrain. It offers a broad range of motor and battery options, designed to meet diverse customer needs, while reinforcing CUPRA’s renowned performance credentials.

The CUPRA Raval’s foundation is Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform, with a front-wheel-drive layout and low-slung chassis to maximise the vehicle’s centre of gravity, improving agility and delivering CUPRA’s hallmark sharp traction and sporty handling.

Complexity has been reduced with a completely new, highly efficient electric drive that brings down the component count and overall weight, optimising both performance and energy consumption.

At its heart is the latest-generation APP (axial parallel position) 290 electric motor, paired with the PowerCo unified cell battery integrated flat into the underbody using cell-to-pack technology. By eliminating module housings, this approach reduces weight and space while increasing energy density by around 10 per cent — translating directly into greater range and efficiency.

The CUPRA Raval is available with a net energy content of 37 kWh as a lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) and with 52 kWh as a nickel manganese cobalt battery (NMC). The different battery options deliver energy to a variety of motor options.

The CUPRA Raval line‑up brings a new level of electrified performance to the urban segment, with a family of powertrains engineered for instant response, efficiency and everyday dynamism.

The new CUPRA Raval VZ is the most powerful and performance-focused version in the line-up. It proves electrification and performance can combine to offer the ultimate in driving thrills.

The VZ version delivers 166kW (226PS), 290Nm of torque and a top speed of 175 km/h and a 0-100km/h in just 6.8 seconds. It is equipped with a 52kWh battery providing a range of up to 440km.

Its sport chassis — 15 mm lower than the platform — together with specifically fine‑tuned suspension, a track width widened +10 mm vs. platform, progressive steering that enhances agility, and ESC Sport, gives the CUPRA Raval exceptional handling and a genuinely fun‑to‑drive experience.

CUPRA-specific driving dynamics and setup express the Raval’s sporty DNA. Dynamic Chassis Control uses adaptive shock absorbers with up to 15 levels of adjustment enabling drivers to tailor the suspension from urban comfort to a more performance‑focused setup. In CUPRA mode, the dampers become stiffer, reducing body lean and enhancing dynamic responses.

The CUPRA Raval provides traction and cornering beyond the norm for a vehicle of this category. As the first CUPRA equipped with ‘one box’ electronic braking system – merging the brake servo and ESC modules – the Raval delivers improved pedal feel and braking via engine recovery. In addition, the CUPRA Raval comes equipped with front and rear disc brakes to maximise performance and confidence.

As an all-electric vehicle, the CUPRA Raval opens the door to new approaches. One-pedal Driving mode allows for smooth, intuitive deceleration while recovering energy. By automatically slowing the vehicle through regenerative braking, the system reduces reliance on the brake pedal and allows the Raval to come to a complete stop without physical braking. Once embraced, it’s a major advantage in urban and stop‑and‑go environments, making driving smoother, while also helping pull energy back into the battery, extending range.

While one‑pedal driving enhances everyday efficiency and ease of use, E‑Launch introduces an entirely new emotional dimension to the driving experience. Developed exclusively by CUPRA, E‑Launch delivers a race‑start sensation through a coordinated sequence of immersive lighting, cockpit animation and a dedicated interior sound ceremony—transforming every acceleration from standstill into a thrilling moment.

The top-of-the-line CUPRA Raval VZ version takes it even further. Equipped with DCC Sport (Dynamic Chassis Control) suspension with greater rigidity (+5%) to improve handling and road holding, ESC OFF mode, 19’’ wheels with wider 235mm tyres and the electronic slip differential (e-LSD), it transforms every journey into a unique experience.

Exclusive to the VZ version, the Electronic Slip Differential (e-LSD) continuously monitors driving conditions via a suite of sensors, managing torque distribution between the wheels to guarantee optimal grip, particularly through tight corners. In addition, sport steering knuckles with negative camber and a higher roll centre deliver a more reactive, engaging and direct front‑axle response.

Across all versions, the CUPRA Raval’s chassis configuration – including multilink front end – makes it exceptionally easy and rewarding to drive. Immediate reactions, precise control and a heightened sense of connection to the road come together to deliver CUPRA’s dynamic identity.
