As the city slows down during the month of August, CASA CUPRA Raval keeps its doors open with a programme designed for those looking to escape the summer heat without giving up culture, entertainment and great food. Throughout the month, the venue brings together a unique exhibition, film screenings and the culinary offering of REV EL BAR.
Until 22 September, CASA CUPRA Raval is hosting REBELS BEYOND THE GALAXY, a free exhibition curated by Alfredo Calles, collector and passionate fan of the iconic galactic saga.
Built around the concept of "from one fan to fellow fans", the exhibition showcases one of Europe's most comprehensive and spectacular private collections, featuring original props used in the films, life-size figures, busts, dioramas, spacecraft, collectibles and other iconic pieces that have turned this cinematic universe into a cultural phenomenon spanning generations.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through this galactic universe, celebrating the legacy of a saga that has inspired the creativity and imagination of millions of people around the world. Born from Alfredo Calles' passion for sharing a collection built over many years, the experience has been designed both for those who grew up with this universe and for new generations discovering it for the first time.
As part of its summer programme, CASA CUPRA Raval Film Selection returns for another year. This free film series will take over the venue's auditorium throughout August, with four screenings every Tuesday at 6:00 pm, all presented in their original language with Spanish subtitles. The programme opens on 4 August with the animated film ‘Flow’, followed by ‘One Battle After Another’ on 11 August, ‘Boiling Point’ on 18 August, and concludes with ‘The Batman’ on 25 August.
To mark the celebration of ‘Festes de Gràcia’, CASA CUPRA Raval will also join the neighbourhood's cultural programme with two special events. On 17 August, the group Arrels de Gràcia will perform live in the afternoon, while on 19 August, DJ Dante Lucero will take over with a DJ set, bringing music to the venue and joining in the celebration of one of Barcelona's most iconic festivals.
The experience is completed by REV EL BAR, CASA CUPRA's culinary concept created together with ‘Grupo No Hay Mañana’, which will remain open throughout August. Its menu reinterprets traditional flavours and locally sourced ingredients through a contemporary urban approach, combining daily specials and dishes designed for sharing with signature creations such as the aged beef burger with Raval sauce, Alfredo macaroni, or the ‘DARK Combo’, featuring a truffle bikini sandwich and the CUPRA Drink. Its outdoor terrace also stands out as one of the city's most vibrant meeting spots, offering the perfect place to enjoy a meal or a refreshing drink in the heart of Barcelona.
