In the past 75 years a lot of people have been part of SEAT S.A., and each one of them has a story to tell about their life and work as they celebrate together the company’s 75th anniversary on 9 May 2025.  As SEAT S.A. employee Esther González puts it, “SEAT S.A. isn’t just its facilities, or its production, or a corner of a workshop; it’s the shared feelings of lots of willing individuals that successfully come together to make something great.” Esther is one of the protagonists of this sentimental journey. So is the Alarcón family, Vicente, María Ángeles and Víctor - three generations who’ve worked in the company . And then there’s Nico Mora, who, in addition to building cars, helped to manufacture something that left a mark on the lives of many others during the COVID-19 pandemic. These five people are just a small sample of the thousands of employees who have been and continue to be part of SEAT S.A., driving the company forward over these 75 years of history.

Three generations, a shared emotion. At family gatherings in the Alarcón family, Vicente, his daughter María Ángeles and her son Víctor, there’s always a story about SEAT S.A.  to be told. Three generations and they all have worked at the company. Vicente was the first. If you ask him what he remembers most fondly about his time there, it’s the day his daughter María Ángeles started working as a trainee. He describes it as an “honour”. She recalls that he’d be “over the moon” every time she’d have coffee with him and his colleagues during their breaks. Víctor was the last one to join after graduating from the Apprentice School. It was when the time came for him to consider further education that his family encouraged him to apply. “When I found out I had been accepted, I called my grandparents and they were so happy for me; they passed the phone back and forth to congratulate me”, he claims.  He finished his training and now works in the Sales department. When he gets home from work, he tells his grandfather how things have evolved : “I explain to him what I’m working on, we talk about the new electric cars... They drove us to this interview in a CUPRA Tavascan and he repeated his classic line, ‘just look at the cars we make at SEAT S.A.’” , and María Ángeles adds, “he says it in the present tense, because he still feels like he’s part of the company.”

A life-long experience. Although 20 years have gone by, Esther still clearly remembers her first day in Martorell: “When I walked into the entrance hall, I thought I’d never seen so many people together.” She was one of the first to try out vehicle leasing with a SEAT Ibiza. Driving a car whose production she had contributed on was very special for her because “in every car, even though invisible, there’s a little piece  of us.”

From making cars to ventilators. Nico Mora knows a lot about workplace camaraderie. COVID-19 brought the world to a standstill, but not the Martorell production line: “We switched from cars to ventilators.” Those were hectic days when everyone wanted to contribute, “it didn’t matter whether you were a director, manager or production worker, we all formed a team, and I think that’s the greatness of what we did.” In his 27 years at SEAT S.A., first on the production line and now as a manager in the Production department, he  highlights their constant evolution and the spirit that led them to take car parts and transform them into ventilators to save lives: “I feel like we can, and will do, anything we set our minds to.”
