As it celebrates its 75th anniversary, SEAT has announced the winners of the ‘SEAT Imagineers’ design contest at an event held yesterday at CASA SEAT in Barcelona. As part of the competition, organised together with the LCI Barcelona school of design and visual arts, the brand invited young creatives to design an edition of the iconic SEAT Ibiza inspired by SEAT's values and spirit.

‘With ‘SEAT Imagineers’ we set ourselves a clear objective: to bring young talent from the world of design closer to SEAT, offering them the opportunity to continue their development both at an educational level —in collaboration with the LCI Barcelona school of design and visual arts— and at a professional level’, said Arantxa Alonso, SEAT Chief Brand Officer. "We wanted to offer them a platform to share their creative vision, and what better way to do so than by reimagining one of our great icons: the SEAT Ibiza? The great response to the competition is proof that SEAT continues to connect with young people and inspires them to dare to express themselves in an authentic way", she added.

"LCI Education and SEAT share the same vision: to promote applied creativity as a driver of innovation, education, and global connection. Together, we invest in young talent as a transformative force in the creative and technological industries. SEAT Imagineers not only celebrates the past but also helps build bridges to the future for the youngest designers," said Alessandro Manetti, vice-president for Europe at LCI Education.

The design inspired by Barcelona's outline map created by Jamie Binstead won the competition for its originality and innovation. Lucas Predseil came in second place with a proposal based on the iconic design of the Barcelona ‘panot’, while third place went to Irati Sáez de Vicuña and her vinyl design based on the Spanish cities that have inspired SEAT model names.

  • Jamie Binstead (UK), made a statement on the brand's legacy and its connection with the Catalan capital. He designed a collage based on the outline of the city of Barcelona, creating a vibrant, creative and provocative pattern, while highlighting the milestone of the 75th anniversary.
  • Lucas Predseil (France), opted for a groundbreaking graffiti-style design inspired by Barcelona's street art. In his view, the city stands out for being eclectic, cutting-edge and vibrant, and he chose to use these elements as the starting point for his project.
  • Irati Sáez de Vicuña (Spain), developed a vinyl proposal representing the 14 Spanish cities corresponding to the SEAT models that bear their names, chronologically ordered since their launch, reflecting the brand's close relationship with the country.

The jury, composed of Jorge Diez, SEAT Design Director; Francesca Sangalli, Head of Colour&Trim and Concept&Strategy at SEAT; Jofre Sanfeliu, Creative Director of Artofmany; and fashon designer María Escoté, selected the three finalists for their ability to connect the present and future of the brand through its values and design.

Reimagining an icon

Launched in March 2025, ‘SEAT Imagineers’ has challenged young people aged 18 to 30 from all over the world to unleash their creativity. Participants had the opportunity to reimagine one of the brand's most iconic models, the SEAT Ibiza, and turn it into a moving work of art through a unique vinyl proposal. The designs had to be inspired by the values that have defined SEAT for 75 years and that shape the brand's future: unexpected, creative, vibrant and optimistic.

"With this initiative we wanted to celebrate what moves us most: young talent and design. The true legacy of a brand is not only in its history but also in its ability to connect with each generation, and young people have a lot to say," said Jorge Diez, SEAT Design Director. "At SEAT we design thinking about how the new generations live, how they express themselves, what moves them, and the finalists have managed to capture what makes us unique: our energy, our attitude, our Mediterranean character.”

To reinforce their creative concept, participants also had to submit two proposals for car accessories and two merchandising products of their choice, such as clothing or accessories.

"It was truly inspiring to witness so much creative talent and to be part of the jury. The proposals conveyed a youthful and genuinely emotional attitude, with great attention to detail, textures, and colours. SEAT is a bold and vibrant brand, and these values were very well represented in the finalist projects," said Francesca Sangalli, Head of Colour&Trim and Concept&Strategy at SEAT.

Jamie Binstead, winner of the competition, will receive a scholarship to study a specialised Master's degree at the LCI Barcelona school of design and visual arts. In addition, he will have the opportunity to carry out a six-month paid internship at the SEAT Design department and to drive a SEAT Leon e-Hybrid during his stay in Barcelona. The winner will also get to see their design produced on a real SEAT Ibiza that will be on display at CASA SEAT until May 30th. In addition, the other two finalists will receive a scholarship to attend a one-month specialised programme of their choice at LCI Barcelona. The runner-up will also have the opportunity of a paid internship at the school.

75 years making history and shaping the future

SEAT recently celebrated its 75th anniversary at the Automobile Barcelona with an exhibition that revisited its legacy and future through 75 iconic models. Coinciding with this milestone, the company announced the winners of the ‘SEAT Imagineers’ competition and, in the coming months, will present updated versions of the SEAT Ibiza and the SEAT Arona, with the aim of maintaining its leadership in their respective segments.
